CORRECTION! Just the Goods Newsletter - Spring 2026 ... special edition, re-stocked, and selected sale items!
Published 30 days agoΒ β’Β 9 min read
Hello! It has come to my attention that for some (but not all?) the link to Forest Spirit face mask made with yarrow and cedar in support of RAVEN was not working correctly. If you experienced any difficulty, my apologies! There are multiple ways to view this listing:
2. Visit the front page of justthegoods.net -- the product is listed twice, in the graphic first banner at the top of the page, and in the row of products described as "New from Just the Goods" 3. From within the Shop app, sort all products by "newest" and it will be the first one
4. Using the search bar at justthegoods.net, or the "search justthegoods" function the Shop app, search for the word "raven" β Thank you for your kind patience and understanding! β All best,
Milena
β Original message is as follows...
Happy Spring, everyone! π·
I hope longer days with more sun have felt refreshing, and that you're finding inspiration in new and creative ways π
Winnipeg has notably short summers, so every minute of sunshine counts! To make the best of it, I've started growing so many tiny seedlings that I hope will become a diverse garden of herbs, fruit, and flowers, some of which I'm excited about transforming into items intended to bring you moments of relaxation and care. I'm looking forward to sharing more about that over the next few months.
As for today, I'd like to share news about a re-released special edition, a re-released limited edition, some sale items, and news of an upcoming event in Winnipeg! Please scroll down for details ...
Special Edition Item
A few years ago I co-created Forest Spirit, a special limited edition face mask featuring the herbal and cultural gifts of yarrow and cedar, as a way to help raise funds for Indigenous-led environmental protection collectives. Water is life, the land is our home, and the struggle to protect all living creatures -- including us -- carries on. This is an important time of transition, and our collective efforts to build solidarity is needed more than ever. β I'm honoured to reissue this limited edition item in support of RAVEN and to announce that 100% of the purchase price of each face mask sold will be donated to RAVEN's core fund so support can be directed to whatever is needed most. β Yarrow leaf and petals ground to a fine powder, blended with kaolin clay and a few drops of cedar essential oil, creates a face mask that is soothing, clarifying, and exfoliating. β βYarrowβ The ancient Greeks, and Mi'kmaq people throughout the ages, regard yarrow for its ability to treat sprains by reducing bruising and swelling. In China, it is used to brighten the eyes and promote intelligence. Ancient Roman tradition believes yarrow is ruled by Venus and the element of water. Throughout Europe, yarrow continues to drive away negativity and represent love. The Navajo people consider it a sacred Life Medicine and Anishinaabe people value it for purification. The Teton Lakota people call yarrow βmedicine for the wounded.β In the Victorian language of flowers, yarrow represents both war and healing. From the perspective of herbalism, it is known worldwide to rid the body of toxins through the provision of anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, astringent and tonic benefits. It can also soothe irritated skin. β βCedarβ In many cultures worldwide spanning from Cherokee to Ojibwe to Druid to Norse, cedar is connected with ancestors, so it is used to drive away negative influences, cleanse, heal, and protect. It can also promote confidence and strength. From a skincare perspective, cedarwood essential oil it is an astringent and can reduce irritation through anti-inflammatory and antiseptic benefits, making it a positive complement to yarrow, and a wonderful choice for oily or problem skin.

Just the Goods limited edition sacha inchi foot balm with tea tree and lemon essential oil
A long time favourite, sacha inchi foot balm is back in stock! π πΏ
Organic sacha inchi, also known as the Inca peanut, is a richly moisturizing oil that easily penetrates skin making it especially helpful for areas that are dry and/or thick. It is high in vitamins and antioxidants, as well as being nicely balanced in fatty acids Omega 3, 6, and 9.
Shea butter nourishes skin with vitamins A, E, and F. It also absorbs quickly and provides lasting moisture
Lemon essential oil is antiseptic, disinfectant and anti-fungal. It can also help to soften skin, which is useful when seeking to treat calluses, corns, and bunions
Tea tree oil offers antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and anti-fungal properties making it helpful when seeking to control athlete's foot among other common concerns
Candelilla wax helps to create a texture slightly more like a balm than a butter it has a little more staying power
Since I continue to receive lovely messages letting me know limited edition shimmering rose vegan lip balm is the new favourite lip balm of so many people, I've made yet another batch. And, I'm wondering... is this something I should keep regularly available? Please let me know what you think!πΉ
In case you aren't already familiar, this lip balm offers a delightful ratio of creamy cocoa butter blended with moisture-rich sea buckthorn oil among other nourishing vegetable-based oils. Distinct from Just the Goods primary range of lip balm is the special addition of rose essential oil for a subtle hint of rose flavour, plus lightly shimmering pink mica for delicate sparkle.
The very first version of this formula included iron oxide for a touch of rosy colour, but I've excluded it from subsequent batches for two reasons: it's challenging to suspend to ensure it's equally distributed throughout the formula so each tube can be identical, and it's very, very difficult to clean away from production tools! π Since most people told me the shimmer was their favourite part, I'm happy that is still available to enjoy!
Just the Goods' new 4 oz aluminum bottle in relation to the old shorter 4 oz bottle and regular 8 oz bottle
Thank you for your questions wondering when Just the Goods' 4 oz aluminum bottles will return to inventory. The past several months have been quite an adventure! β Due to tariff related trade disruption, my packaging distributor in Canada lost access to the 4 oz aluminum bottles I have been using for several years. Knowing how important this packaging option has been for so many of you, I'm pleased to announce I'll be making an interim switch to a version with different dimensions -- they are taller and more narrow, but still 4 oz. I've adjusted the website to reflect that I can resume filling the remaining inventory I've been reserving for subscription orders, and I'll switch to the new stock as soon as I run out of the original. In other words, for the next few weeks, orders of products in 4 oz aluminum bottles may arrive in the original shorter or new taller bottle, based on stock. β Please note, new bottle pumps will be required for the taller bottles because the ones you may already have for the shorter bottles will not be to reach product at the bottom. β The switch from behind the scenes will be a little challenging (especially where shipping is concerned), but I'll do my very best ensure this transition is as smooth as possible for everyone π That being said, news of the tariffs being deemed illegal by the US Supreme Court only a few days ago may make all of this a worry of the past. Whatever happens, I'll keep you posted. Thank you once again for your patience and understanding!
Sale Items!
Oopsie! I made waaaay too many of these, and would love for you have them before it's too warm outside to ship π Over time the citric acid has started to bloom -- that is, when the melts make contact with a bit of humidity, the fizzing process starts on the surface of the product and they start to look a little fuzzy. The bath melts are still perfectly good to use, they're just not as pretty as they were the minute they were made. For this reason, I've marked them down in price π β Just the Goodsβ bath melts are are made with nourishing cocoa butter alone and are available either with aromatherapeutic essential oils, or without. β
Bath melts are available in packages of six and come in the following varieties:
romantic: rosewood, patchouli, and ylang ylang
unscented means no scent has been added so natural cocoa butter takes centre stage
I wasn't kidding when I mentioned, a few months ago, that I'd purchased far too much inventory from Attitude, which I'm sadly no longer able to ship to the United States because they haven't provided me with their CUSMA compliance certificate.
β But, my error is your win! I've made further markdowns on all the remaining EWG Verified sunscreen inventory I have in stock, including both liquid and plastic-free stick format! β Stock up now for the longer, sunnier days ahead! β Find it here: https://justthegoods.net/collections/41-sale
It has been 8 years since Just the Goods participated in a market, but when my friend Brad of Eye and Ear Control Records invited me to participate in his Winnipeg famous series, The Lost Market of Carcosa, I was absolutely delighted and instantly said yes!
Join us on Sunday May 17 at Sidestage (700 Osborne) from 11 am to 4 pm for all kinds of awesome including my friend Gwen's vintage emporium Night Mall, Kim's jam and pickle empire, Flora and Farmer, and so much more! I'll be bringing mostly body products with an emphasis on things that are useful for as many people as possible versus things that are skin-type specific such as hand/body lotion, body butter, deodorant, lip balm, body scrubs, calendula salve, atrophy relief balm, arnica and menthol cooling muscle balm, etc.
Of course, if you'd like to place an order for anything else available at justthegoods.net to pick up at the market, please do! This is a handy way to access everything available on the website, skipping any pick up fees π And, if we've never had a chance to meet in person before, this would be a fun opportunity!! See you there!
More About RAVEN
Indigenous Peoples in Canada have some of the most powerful environmental rights in the worldβbut only if they can afford to uphold them in court. A registered Canadian charity (#85484 0147 RR0001) and a US 501(c)(3) organization (EIN 98-0628334), RAVEN supports Indigenous Peoples in enforcing their rights and title in court to protect their lands, sovereignty, and ways of being. We do this by partnering with Indigenous communities to bring legal actions that seek redress for violations to their lands and rights. Indigenous-led litigation is sparking transformative change across Canada, and every campaign we take on is an opportunity to redefine justice through setting legal precedents that aim to return stewardship and sovereignty to First Peoples. Through fundraising and public education activities, RAVEN is committed to advancing Indigenous rights and taking action for our shared futures by establishing environmental legacies.
Since 2009, our campaigning and fundraising activities have led to legal victories that have protected lands and sacred sites, upheld modern Treaty rights, stopped pipelines, and defended the land from open-pit mining. After fifteen years, RAVEN-supported cases have been cited over 445 times in other court cases, contributing to systemic change that addresses the climate crisis by honouring Indigenous Peoplesβ right to free, prior, and informed consent. Together, we root into the power of movement building to actualize a future that upholds Indigenous laws and ways of being.
By supporting RAVEN, you are part of a movement that increases access to justice so that Indigenous Peoples can afford to assert their rights and reclaim environmental stewardship through litigation against colonial governments and extractive corporations. What is at stake for Indigenous Peoples is at stake for everyone: basic rights to clean water and abundant lands that support ecosystems for all life and for all generations.

Hello! π Since my last message wishing you "Happy Spring" -- and a few more snowfalls in Winnipeg -- I'm happy to say the grass is finally greening, skies are blue, and I'm truly delighted to see ravens, crows, and an eagle fly into the protection of trees with twigs or strands of tall grass in their beaks. I saw two pods of pelicans circling overhead this past weekend, and there's a great grey owl making itself heard every night! [A friend helped identify the owl by texting me a succession...
