New Limited Edition Items

An unflavoured lip balm option came into being through a happy accident wherein I forgot to add essential oils while making a batch, then was pleasantly surprised to discover the combination of carrier oils was far more neutral in aroma/taste than I'd previously imagined!

And so, here we have Just the Goods' dreamy ratio of creamy cocoa butter blended with moisture-rich seabuckthorn oil, among other nourishing plant-based oils, this time made without essential oils for flavour. I can't believe I did try this sooner, on purpose! No one scent/flavour from the carrier oils is dominant -- they seem to cancel each other out -- which I had not anticipated 😃

This formula is currently available as a limited edition item but, if it is enjoyed, I will consider making it a permanently available option.

ps. This formula does not contain sunflower oil... I just happened to have a cute tiny sunflower growing unexpectedly, probably thanks to a bird dropping a seed while flying away from one of the feeders we have outside 🌻

Since I'm no longer able to ship perfume to the US, I've been thinking of other ways to share scent... Body milk is lighter than lotion thanks to a lower ratio between its three key elements: oil, water, and emulsifying wax. In this case, I decided to adapt my formula for facial moisturizer to create a slightly more luxurious body care option: avocado and apricot kernel oil, enhanced with aloe vera, are each deeply nourishing while still light on skin and absorbing quickly. It was only after moving from Ontario to Manitoba that I realized how much I'd taken for granted the stunning scent of coniferous forests, even in the cold of winter. And, after being in Winnipeg for nearly 20 years, I now live closer to a variety of spruce, pine, juniper, and cedar trees. I've recently gravitated to black spruce essential oil as the one that best captures what I love most about evergreen scents: fresh, crisp, and herbaceous; energizing without being overstimulating. Like all other Just the Goods' hand/body lotions, this scent holds close to the body and doesn't project or linger so it provides comforting aromatherapy upon application, but is still appropriate to wear in environments where strong scents are discouraged. And, like Just the Goods' regularly available hand/body lotion, this variety is made from nourishing grapeseed oil, which is packed with antioxidants including vitamin E to reduce inflammation and supports the production of collagen making it an effective, fast absorbing, and long lasting moisturizer. Winter Heat Bath Salts

It was a cold night in September when I decided it was time for this formula to make a come back!

Heavy snow, gloppy slush, and blustering cold winds... blah! If winter makes you feel cold to the bone, this bath (or foot bath) is a great way to cozy both your body and mind. These bath salts are blended without essential oils -- scent is derived from the plant based ingredients, only.

• Epsom salt draws impurities away from muscles and skin while conditioning bath water
• Warming ginger gently stimulates circulation by producing a thermogenic effect to help the body increase in temperature. Since it can increase sweating, it supports epsom salt in clearing muscles and skin

Ancestral Remembrance Bath Salts

For many people around the world, November is time to celebrate our ancestors and their gifts to us. Magnesium Oil

Just the Goods' new magnesium oil has been even more popular than I imagined, so while it did go out of stock twice after being released, I've since stocked up on magnesium chloride flakes in a very big way so I think it's safe to say it's back and should be more reliably available going forward thank you for your patience!!

In November I'll make more strawberry face mask with the strawberries harvested and dehydrated earlier this past summer. And, since my Calendula plant is still producing flowers -- little by little -- I'll wait until I've harvested everything possible before infusing oil for this season's seed to salve calendula salve. Stay tuned!

Just the Goods will be closed for seasonal downtime from Saturday December 19 to Sunday January 3. To accommodate this, the last day to order for the year will be Friday, December 11 for shipping on Friday December 18.

Yes, I will always pull forward any orders I can if I have selections available but, for the most part it should be anticipated that orders placed after December 11 will be handmade starting on Monday, January 4 for shipping on Friday January 8 and/or Friday January 15 😊
